Concrete IEP goals and objectives will guide your child on what tasks they will complete, how and when they will complete the task, and the time frame that the tasks will be done. Goals should always be S.M.A.R.T. To better understand what S.M.A.R.T. goals are ask yourself these questions:
S is for Specific: What do I want my child to achieve?(Remember who, what, when, where, and why)
M is for Measurable: What do I want my child to accomplish in a 12-month period?
A is for Attainable: What is needed for my child to attain the goal?
R is for Realistic: Is this goal realistic and relevant to my child’s progress?
T is for Time-limited: What is the time frame of the goal?
